Which instruments do you play?
Vocals, Guitars, Keys, Bass, Drum Programming. What made you decide to be a solo artist and not want to be in a band?
Oh geez, band politics. I got tired of butting heads with everyone. I like things my way...
Do you work with the same musicians when recording as you do when performing live?
Recording wise – It’s ONLY me. Live I use friends...
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t yet heard you?
Imagine, what if Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, King Crimson, Ozzy, Sabbath, Nirvana, The Beatles, Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, Van Halen, Stone Temple Pilots, Steve Vai, Beethoven, My Chemical Romance, Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa were all thrown into a blender with some Tequila and strawberries... Then add a bong hit or two... That just BEGINS to tell the story... Hold on to your hats because the roller coaster is going off the tracks...
What have you been up to recently?
I am recording my new The Alien Mike E.T. CD – Psychobabble which should be out early 2011. I also contribute songs or music for lots of B-movies that are coming out or already out.
What can your fans look forward to in the next 12 months?
More of music in movies. The new Alien Mike E.T. CD> And then back for more CrimsonFaced.
Did you always want to be in a musician/singer when younger?
When I was 8 my mom got me the Red and Blue Best of Beatles records. Ever since that day. Lennon made me want to be a musician. Ozzy’s first guitarist Randy Rhoads made me want to become a guitar virtuoso.
What music did you listen to while growing up?
Good so much. Started with The Monkees and The Beatles. Then to like Cheap Trick, Aerosmith. On to my Yes, ELP, King Crimson, Genesis phase. Back to Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Van Halen. Then on to Miles and Coltrane. Then McLaughlin, Holdsworth, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Beethoven Stravinsky, Zappa.
How long have you played your instruments?
Piano – started at 8 years old
Guitar – started at 9 years old.
What is your current equipment?
Fender, Carvin, Steinberger and Ovation Guitars.

Are you self-taught or did you have lessons?
Mostly self-taught with some lessons.

Do you use the same equipment live as you do when in a studio?
Do you have a set routine when writing and recording or does it depend on each track and the inspiration?
Depends on the track.

How much involvement do you have with the arranging and production of the songs when recording?
I do all of it.
Is the production side of things something you’d like to get involved more in the future, maybe working with other artists?
Interesting, yes I probably would if I found someone that intriqued me.
Do you find the process of recording enjoyable and does it get easier the more you do?
Yes and yes!!!
Do you try to capture your ‘live’ sound on recordings or do you think that the ‘live’ sound and recorded sound should be different experiences for your fans?
Well doing it all solo I guess I can’t get a live sound. I do think they should be different experiences!

Do you find song writing easy or difficult?
Mostly easy with the really bad day thrown in there on occaion.

Who are your favourite songwriters?
John Lennon. John McLaughlin. Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).
Which countries have you gigged in?
Just the U.S.
Which countries would be at the top of your list to tour?
All of Europe!

Yes to both!

There is something else to do?
Would you like to be a full time working musician or are you happy with things as they are?
Well I am so close to being full time. I think it will happen in the most 2 years time.
