Singer-songwriter Jane Weaver has written a beautiful fairytale book to accompany her recently released album - The Fallen By Watchbird.
This lovely hardback book combines stunning fairytale illustrations by Mancunian filmmakers Kluncklick (Yo Gabba Gabba/Bobby Conn) with the author's unique lyrical narrative. The Fallen By Watchbird is designed to appeal to child-like imaginations of all ages.
When a girl becomes estranged from her heart's desire it takes a special kind of energy to bring them back together. But is the power of true love strong enough or will she have to call upon her faithful magical Watchbird to guide her through her mystic and treacherous quest?
Jane Weaver is a singer-songwriter, performer and producer of music from the North of England. Alongside a discography of six self-penned albums she also runs the femme freak-folk imprint Bird Records through Finders Keepers Records.
Jane also organises international events and compilations under the Bearded Ladies moniker (Including the live revival of bygone folk-pop legends at Jarvis Cocker's Meltdown festival in 2007).
Her latest conceptual Folkloric record project, The Fallen By Watch Bird comprised modern artists alongside latter day legends like Wendy & Bonnie and Susan Christie on tracks that have since been re-arranged by Demdike Stare and The Focus Group under the title Watchbird Alluminate. The latest incarnation of this project explores its literary form with the release of this beautiful book.
