Life As A Rock Star with Clint Hell
Being in a band is being silly. No question about it. It’s some sort natural law, it seems. Just think of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. They were being quite silly in most of their interviews. And if this doesn’t help you understand what I mean, perhaps you read our interview in the Feb edition of Somojo Mag. Then you’ll probably know what I mean. ;-)
But how come? Why do people in bands turn into giggling, meaningless bastards when in group and interviewed? They can be perfectly sane and serious when alone or in pairs, but four or five…?
Well. A band is, as you might understand, a fairly tightly knit unit. And when rehearsing for several years a certain jargon is developed. This jargon is E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y internal. And, naturally used when interviewed. There’s also the factor of one band member triggering another who triggers yet another band member…. And so on. Not to mention that EVERY band wants to be unique and give unique answers to questions asked a million times before….. And suddenly, or “ergo” if you like, you have these nonsensically babbling goofers that make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
And, I’m sad to admit, I am one of them. ;-)
