"A band on the verge of something big".
“FEVER” is the new single from the significantly talented indie/rock/pop outfit The Quails and is the 2nd single taken from their recent highly successful album “Master of Imperfection”.
The single is also accompanied by a video produced by Realm Pictures and available to view through You Tube with Fastrax distribution.
Hailing from Teignmouth the band is made up of Dan Steer, vocals, guitar and keyboard, guitarist Max Armstrong "the most gifted guitar student to pass through this college" (Exeter Academy of Music and Sound), bass player Sam Banks and drummer Chris Prentice who all join together their sounds and talent to form a musically tight and cohesive end product.
With Dan’s distinctive voice and the the tight and solid performance of the band, they have shown that musically they are talented, dynamic and truly impressive as their many live performances can confirm including regularly playing to audiences in excess of 1,000 people. Lyrically their songs express sentiments and experiences which transcend the generations and are a melodic fusion of pop, indie-rock with some heavier, darker elements – full of versatility and challenges whilst creating a catchy, fresh and worthwhile sound.
They released their first album in 2009 and last summer, when they opened for Muse on the first night of their Resistance Tour, they were featured in a BBC documentary about the Muse gig.
In March ‘10 The Quails supported Newton Faulkner and K T Tunstallat The Altitude Festival, Meribel in the Alps and also opened for Muse at their Seaside Rendezvous gig. Along with 18 summer festival appearances including the Huw Stephen's stage at Latitude, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqFDEULtA they have also supported the Kooks at The Eden Project, Motorhead at The Bulldog Bash, supported The Automatic at Birmingham Uni, were main support to Will Young at South Devon Festival, main support to Ruby Turner at Dartmouth Festival, supported Saxon at Powderham Castle Thunder Festival, supported The Hoosiers at Chagstock, The Futureheads at Relentless Boardmasters, Athlete at Ivy Live, played Beach Break Live and supported Toploader at Namfest.
In June ‘10 they gave such an impressive performance at Gold Coast Ocean Fest that the organisers said they were the best band of the festival.
At Glastonbury this summerThe Quails were booked for one gig, but ended up playing 4, including being asked to take to the stage at the last minute to a capacity crowd when a well known band failed to show.
They rocked and the band have already been booked for next year!
Simon Honywill, head of department for sound for The Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury recently described their album as "absolute dynamite."
