Tom Moriarty - Singing The Blues
BBC 6 Music DJ Chris Hawkins manages a charity team of bands and artists to raise funds for individual club charities through anthemic club songs recorded by each act.
Hawkins multi talented team is captained by The Mission’s lead singer Wayne Hussey and All About Eve lead singer Julianne Regan forming Hussey – Regan, who have recorded a breathtaking version of Liverpool FC’s (Respect For All charity) You’ll Never Walk Alone. In goal we have the alternative sounds of Ben Dalby with Whole World in Our Hands for Nottingham Forest FC (Beaumond House charity) The back four lines up with Red Brick Walls at right back with Fulham FC’s (Fulham Foundation charity) Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You. Out very much on the left field is Iceland’s Cynic Guru with their alt rock version on Stoke FC’s (Caudwell Children charity) Delilah. Moonshot’s electro version of Tottenham Hotspurs (Tottenham Foundation charity) Can’t Smile Without You and Isaac’s Aircraft’s acoustic version of Arsenal FC’s (Save the Children Charity) Go West track form a formidable North London central defence.
Issy Ferris’ stunning version of Wolves FC (Wolves Community Trust) Those Were the Days and Carla May’s Annie’s Song for Sheffield United FC (Sheffield Children’s Hospital) form a young central midfield partnership, brimming with talent. Supplying the lethal forward line are wingers Tom Moriarty with his gravel edged version of the Sheffield Wednesday FC (Sheffield Children’s Hospital) classic Singing the Blues and The Lights with their remarkable take of the Proclaimers classic Sunshine on Leith for Hibernian FC. (Hibernian Community Foundation)
A stella forward line to guarantee goals is needed in any successful team and Daniel’s has recruited two of the best in captain and centre forward and The Mission front man Hussey - Regan with his Liverpool FC anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone. Joining him up front are The Travelling Band, one of the most talked about signings to Daniels team with their version of the Manchester City FC (Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital) anthem Blue Moon.
