On 4th of March South London based indie rockers The Hotelles will mark their third release with an  A/B side single release of ‘Movie Reel’ and ‘She Hasn’t Slept For Weeks.’ Having seen in the new year with a lively gig at their Goldsmiths local, recently supported Fantastic Mr Fox and with more London live dates coming up, these 3 brothers have every intention of becoming your next favourite guitar band.

The single was produced by Cam Blackwood (The Horrors, Florence and the Machine, Hurts), and as oppose to the well received indie-pop of their previous releases, this single see’s the boys sound takes a more mature direction whilst staying true to the angsty tone of the bitter sweet lyrics. 'Movie Reel' has already garnered radio support from the likes of Amazing Radio.

The trio are made up of Tom Easton 21 (Vocals / Guitar), Ben Easton 18 (Bass/ Vocals) and Sam Easton 14 (Drums). The nostalgic ‘Movie Reel’ sees the boys takes inspiration from Orange Juice and Aztec Camera. Opening up with an upbeat guitar riff, that’s followed by Tom’s rough and nicely stained vocal, building up to the harmonic hook of a chorus that really makes the tune what it is.

‘She hasn’t slept for weeks’ is a deliciously catchy yet sinister number that describes a self-destructive young girl. The boys stated that “Cam Blackwood liked the roughness, It’s one of our most punk influenced tracks as we were listening to a lot of Buzzcocks and Clash at the time.” Tom kicks the track off with an instant rawness in his vocal and guitar riff, this tones remains throughout particularly in the middle eight with some almost intrusive feedback.

The video to ‘Movie Reel’ was directed by fellow Goldsmiths student Amanda Tooke, and mirrors the nostalgic feel to the track and showcases the DIY ethos when it comes to production. The charm of both the song and the visual aesthetic are maintained through simple videography with an artistic flair.

The Hotelles have a distinctly fresh and British guitar sound and are an act that can absolutely pull it off live. The band have already managed to attract the attention of big-hitting fashion company Vans, with music currently featured in a promo video for the fashion/sports brand. With more tour dates planned for 2013 and another single release in April, this looks set to be the year The Hotelles youthful exuberance really pulls off.
